As per the FICCI KPMG 2015 report, the year 2014 saw the value of VFX grow the highest at 22%, followed by post-production at 15%, animation production at 9% and animation services at 1%. As of now, 20,000 (5%) people out of 4 lakh people in the media and entertainment sector have jobs in the animation, VFX and gaming industry. This figure is expected to rise to 30,000 by the year 2017 and 4.4 lakh by 2023.
The design animation industry has matured in India and has moved on from being just an outsourcing facility to a creator of original intellectual property as well. We can see that the animation, VFX, gaming and comics (AVGC) sector of India will only grow further.

Animation is an art field which is very demanding as a career. It has ample opportunities for candidates who have creative and imaginative minds. Most of the opportunities lie in UI design, graphic design, storyboarding, animation design, game design, 3D modelling, texturing and lighting, dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D).

Animation, without a doubt, is a dazzling career option. An aspirant can apply for the post of Junior Animator with a salary ranging between Rs.12000 to Rs.18000 per month. For a designer at a middle or senior level, one can surely look forward to promotions and salary hikes of anything between Rs. 25000 to Rs. 40000.
