‘Study abroad institute’ billboards and pamphlets are everywhere these days. These institutions are minting money by assisting the students in the admission process which, on the contrary, can be easily completed by the students themselves! For students aspiring to study abroad, these are important points that should be kept in mind.
The first and foremost step is to shortlist one or two countries of your preference from a long list of countries providing overseas education. Students can go for the unexplored countries like New Zealand, Australia, Dubai, Russia and many more.
This is the most crucial step in the whole process. Select the course that meets all your interests- academics, professional as well as personal. Whether it’s Engineering, Medical, Humanities, Management or Law, make your decision wisely.
After shortlisting the course choices, look for the Universities providing those courses. It can be a complicated and research-intensive process, so students should take proper time finding their perfect fit. Also, check the faculty, student life, placement records and city life.
Requirements and Eligibility
All the colleges have specific admission requirements depending on the course like Management courses in the U.K. would require students to submit GMAT score whereas Masters in Economics, English and other humanities subjects would require GRE score. Other requirements include minimum grade points in graduation, English language requirement and others depending upon the course.
If you fulfil the admission requirements and are eligible to apply for the chosen course, start with the application process. Please note that most of the colleges charge an application fee to apply. Students would also need to submit Letter of Recommendation (LOR), Statement of Purpose (SOP) and Educational record.
Scholarship/ Loans (if required)
Start planning your finances by applying for the scholarships provided by the college or other funding institutions. Students can also apply for bank loans in their home country. All the banks offer individual education loans with relatively lower interest rates.
